Type of Authoring Tools
Many times, the Lingo programmer’s job in a company is not to develop content directly, but to build templates and tools for others, usually referred to as multimedia authors. These tools can take the form of Lingo-based Xtras, a behavior library, or even a set of Macromedia Director movie templates.
One type of authoring tool helps animators create complex or repetitive Score sequences. These use Lingo’s Score recording commands to alter the sprites in the Score.
