Part II. Managing Your Photos

Managing Your Photos

In this part ...

If you're going to use Lightroom to manage your photos, you first have to establish a connection between the location your photos are stored on your computer and the Lightroom database. This is the essence of the process known as importing — and is (rightfully) the entire focus of Chapter 4.

After you're up to speed on how to get your photos into Lightroom, you'll be ready to start tackling all the important management tasks that follow every photo shoot. By the end of Part II, you'll be a master at using Lightroom to keep your portfolio lean, organized, and sorted. All your photos will be just a few clicks away because each file's metadata fields will be bursting with the kind of descriptive information you need to keep a handle on which photo is where.
