Chapter 16. Remote Installation Service

Remote Installation Services (RIS) is a disk-imaging service that comes with Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2003 Server. Using RIS is similar to using other disk-imaging products, as described in Chapter 15. It has the benefit of not requiring third-party products, however, because RIS is built into the server operating system. This chapter describes how to customize RIS and how to use it to deploy Windows XP Professional with applications and settings.
