We’ve come a long way since the start of this book. We started out by learning how to access the 2D depth image from the Kinect. We learned how to analyze an image by iterating through its pixels. Then we used this ability to build simple interfaces based on tracking the closest point to the Kinect. In the next chapter, we moved on to working in 3D. We learned how to use rotations, translations, and scaling to display the Kinect’s depth data as a point cloud.
