3. Spotlight-powered search in the Finder, plus Smart Folders

When you type into the Search field in a Finder window, Spotlight instantly kicks in and show you simple results directly in the window. It automatically looks in the last “location” that was chosen (“Home” in the example below).

Click the + sign to get the options to narrow your search.You can save a search as a Smart Folder (see pages 316317) that will automatically update itself.

Choose “Find…” from the File menu (or Press Command F) to get a window similar to the one above, but with two refinements (“Kind” and “Last Opened”) already set up. See pages 314
