So what exactly is ZBrush? ZBrush is a 3D modeling and paint package from Pixologic, Inc. (Figure 11-1). ZBrush uses brush-based sculpting to allow the artist to add detail quickly to models. Highly detailed models with millions of polygons can quickly be created. ZBrush uses technology known as Pixols. Pixols are pixels that retain their depth and orientation information after they are created. That means you can change the lighting and it will affect the shading of the Pixols.
