Mozilla Thunderbird

Mozilla Thunderbird (see Figure 4.4) is the sister program to Firefox. Starting with Ubuntu 11.10, Thunderbird is the default email application in Ubuntu. Whereas Firefox is designed to browse the Web, Thunderbird’s specialty is communication. It can handle email, network news (see later in this chapter), and RSS feeds.

As with Firefox, there are many plug-ins and extensions to enhance your email. You can also use Thunderbird for Usenet news reading.
