Prepare for a Content Audit
Now that you have a team, you can get started assessing your environment. You will need to enumerate all your systems that might benefit from a pragmatic ECM strategy, determine what content is in each one and how it is used, and determine the difficulty of migrating it. To do so, you will need to determine what kind of content is in these systems, how it’s created, how people find it, and how they use it.
You may have several such systems, as shown in Figure 3-2. In general, your existing content repositories can be placed into three groups:
