Sharing Toad Settings

One of the most common Toad user questions (after both basic connectivity and configuration) is how to get the same options or settings (and thus behavior) as a buddy whose Toad works differently (that is, better) than one’s own. Another common reason is that a team working together on a common project might like to share settings for consistency and standardization.

Beginning with Toad 12.5 the process to share all your settings is trivially easy: You simply choose Main Menu → Utilities → Copy User Settings, which launches the Copy User Settings window, as shown in Figure 2.16. In fact this screen offers three useful functionalities:
