Why You Need this Chapter

Using the right shutter speed for the subject can transform snapshots into great photos and help prevent camera shake, which turns potentially beautiful photos into digital mush. In this chapter, you’ll learn how to choose the best shutter speeds for your favorite subjects, how to avoid camera shake, how to suggest movement with special shooting methods (Figure 12.1), and how to capture action even in dim light (Figure 12.2).
