Simple programmes
We have seen that the staged project framework can be applied to any type of project for any purpose. It is a tool that you can adopt and adapt to suit your needs. Nevertheless, a simple string of activities, passing through five defined stages, may not give you the full flexibility you require. We saw in Figure 12.7 how we can manage the subparts of a project using the work break-down structure. This is how the project manager delegates work to the managers within the core team.
