Layer Comps to Files

The Layer Comps script (File > Scripts) let you record different combinations (or comps) in the Layers panel. In a document with eight layers, for example, you could hide a couple of layers and make a Layer Comp; move the position of a layer and make another Layer Comp; and change the opacity of a layer and make yet another Layer Comp. Then, when you want to compare your different options, you can click through them in the Layer Comps panel.

This script takes the different looks contained inside the Layer Comps panel and creates individual files. You choose the location and file time and Photoshop does the rest (Figure 3.3).
