Turning Off Collapse Transformations
As you look back and forth between Custom View 1 and Active Camera, there is a key difference: none of the precomps are visible in the Custom View 1 panel. This is because the Collapse Transformations switch is on 
for each of the precomps (Figure 15-23). The Collapse Transformations switch controls the order in which effects are applied to layers in a composition. It isn’t needed in this project; click the Collapse Transformations switch for each of the precomps to turn it off
