Easing Out, Easing In

The camera starts and stops abruptly, without any of the natural ramping up and down that would occur with a human cameraperson. This makes the camera move look unnatural and computer generated. Luckily, After Effects has a built-in provision to emulate a natural camera move, known as ease in and ease out. You can apply these to any animated property; they’re particularly important on camera moves.

Select AllLayers in the Timeline, and select the keyframes for Position and Scale at frames 0 and 599. Right-click one of the keyframes, and, from the pop-up menu, choose Keyframe Assistant  Easy Ease (Figure 13-45). The keyframe changes from a diamond shape to the eased shape .
