Research reports summarize experimental findings and use additional reference sources to support the findings (Figure 70).

Research reports are commonly written in one of two ways:

image An argumentative research report makes a statement about a particular subject and then presents research to support the thesis.

image An analytical research report asks a question and then presents research describing various answers to the question.
