If you're looking for a simple, remote screen control tool, LogMeIn is probably the answer (Figure A-2). The eponymous firm, LogMeIn, offers its LogMeIn Free software for the Macintosh; they also have a large array of products for Windows that include IT support (https://secure.logmein.com).

LogMeIn Free allows a single account to group together many different systems, all of which can be owned and controlled by different people or by just one user. The remote connection is made within a browser window, and it has controls for reducing bandwidth or accessing multiple monitors.

LogMeIn installs a server on a computer that's accessed directly and remotely via Web browsers that use plug-ins to handle displaying the remote screen within the browser window.
