Quick Walkthrough

The user interface (UI) for SCUP 2011 was streamlined quite a bit from the previous version (SCUP 4.5), and moved to the new System Center UI framework which is straightforward to use. Here is a quick, summarized walkthrough of the steps involved for publishing your first update:

1. Configure the initial options as discussed in the “SCUP Configuration” section.

2. Import a third-party catalog as discussed in the “Catalogs” section, or create your own updates as discussed in the “Custom Updates” section.

3. In the Updates workspace, select the update(s) you want to publish. Choose Publish from the ribbon bar and complete the basic wizard choosing the publication type for the selected updates.
