Catalogs

Catalogs in SCUP contain the actual updates that you import and publish into ConfigMgr. You do not actually publish whole catalogs into ConfigMgr using SCUP; they are containers that make it easy to import and export groups of related updates from or to other SCUP publishers or user. Catalogs are managed from the Catalogs workspace in the SCUP console.

Third-party vendors can use SCUP to create update catalogs for their own products and then make these catalogs available to you for direct import and use in ConfigMgr using SCUP. There are two types of catalogs: those from Microsoft partners and directly listed in SCUP, and those from other sources.
