Site

A site is the core role of ConfigMgr. Depending on your organization’s requirements, the hierarchy may be as simple as a single primary site. Large enterprises may require starting with a central administration site and at least one primary site. Figure 2.3, a new diagram view in the ConfigMgr console complete with site status, shows how a typical hierarchy might look.
