Resolving Cluster Configuration Database Problems

Any problems with the cluster databases are identified and noted during cluster startup. A detailed explanation of cluster databases is provided in the section, “Cluster Configuration Databases”. A common problem may affect each type of database differently.

The CDB is the first cluster configuration database read—if the CDB does not exist, the cluster cannot verify its name and will not start. If a node attempts to start with a CDB that contains a syntax error, the startnode command exits with the following message:

syntax error: Starting Sun Cluster software - joining the tree cluster
