Using Fills

Fills represent the second of the three attribute categories that render vector paths visible; the other two are strokes and effects. Fills represent the area that is enclosed by paths. For paths that aren’t closed, fills represent the area that would be filled if you were to connect the first and last points with a straight line. As with strokes, any given path can have exactly one fill.
