Outlook 2007 has only one message editor. Unlike previous versions of Outlook that allowed you to choose Word as your email editor or use the standard, built-in Outlook editor, Outlook 2007 uses only one editor: Microsoft Word. Whether you install Outlook 2007 as a stand-alone product or as part of the Microsoft Office suite, the email editor is the same.

The message format is the actual file format used to transmit the message. Outlook has three message formats you can choose from: HTML, rich text, and plain text. In Outlook 2007, the default mail format is HTML.
