Abstract

In this chapter two approaches for the 1D modelling of Shape Memory Alloys are presented. The first approach is based on a phenomenological description of the Austenite-Martensite transformation, assuming that the two configurations are always at equilibrium and the fractions of Martensite and Austenite are a cosine function of the temperature and the stress, which matches experimental measurement.
