Glossary

You may not be familiar with some terms mentioned in this book. Although many of these terms will be familiar to those who have experience with the World Wide Web, some terminology may be confusing to newcomers. This glossary should clear up any confusion.

A

AAC: Stands for Advanced Audio Coding, a type of digital compression that is used to reduce the size of music files while maintaining quality. AAC, which is the preferred method of digital encoding for Apple Computer and its line of iPod players, is superior in quality to the MP3 format but still part of the MPEG specification.
