Understanding User-Defined Visitors

In Lesson 6, “Tracking Visitors,” you learned about the various types of visitor reports available in Google Analytics. One report not discussed in that lesson is the User Defined report. This report tracks visitors based on types that you define, by customizing the Google Analytics tracking code.

Essentially, the user-defined function enables you to label visitors by the specific actions they complete on your site. For example, you might create a visitor type for those who make a purchase from you or who visit a specific page on your site. You can then track the behavior ...
