TextEdit

The application TextEdit is a small word processor. It can do some surprising things, but is missing enough serious features that you might not want to use it as your only word processor. But here is what it can do:

From the File menu, you can “Open Recent” files. This is nice so you don’t have to go scrounging around in your hard disk looking for that file you created several days ago.

From the Edit menu, you can do all the basic stuff like cut, copy, paste, delete (clear), undo, and select all. If you don’t know how to use those features, please see Chapter 13.
