Advanced Detailing

Advanced detailing entails taking an extra step and learning to include additional articulation to surfaces and objects before rendering them (Fig. 16.1, Fig. 16.2). Users of all levels can benefit from these methods, but they are well suited for intermediate and advanced users.

This chapter discusses several general methods of advance detailing:

  • Texture Modeling: Push/pull and articulate texture image surfaces
  • Detailing at Transitions: Creating realistic edges and transitions
  • Ruby Scripts: Custom detailing tools

Although more methods exist, these particular ones provide an excellent place to begin improving your models.
