This attribute signals what type of protocol to use over a link-frame connection. The server treats this attribute as a hint if received inside an Access-Request packet and a required condition if received in an Access-Accept packet. The value of this attribute can range from 1 to 6; Table 3-2 lists the values and their corresponding link protocols.
