Modifying Web Parts from SharePoint
As a developer, you need to know that Web Parts you develop for SharePoint can be customized by the end user or administrator. This is the default behavior. The next section will guide you through developing Web Parts that allow you to hook into the SharePoint Web Part customization theme. For now, let's briefly walk through the steps an end user would use to customize a Web Part.
Click Modify Shared Web Part on the edit menu for your Web Part, as shown in Figure 3-11. Figure 3-11 shows a Web Part's modification property being invoked.
