List Badges (Count Bubbles)

A list badge or count bubble is a highlighted oval that typically indicates the number of new items that are available for viewing. For instance, badges are commonly used in mail applications to indicate how many unread email items you have. In our example, badges are used to indicate when a comment was added about a movie review (see Figure 5–10). A badge can be used to express any type of meta data.
