HOW RELEVANT IS OD FOR TODAY’S ORGANIZATIONS?

There is little question of the relevancy of OD for today’s organizations of any type or size all over the world. Organization members are searching for ways to thrive, survive, and adapt in an environment of dynamic, non-stop, unpredictable change. As shown in Exhibit 41.1, fully 93 percent of the respondents felt that OD was either very relevant (75 percent) or relevant (18 percent) for organizations. In many ways, OD has the opportunity to be the field for the times, as it addresses many of the critical issues that organizations are dealing with in these challenging times.
