What Is Clip Art?

In the old days, long before the invention of computers, people would buy clip‐art books. They would literally cut, or clip, images from these books and paste them into posters, letters, and advertisements. Today's clip art is the digital equivalent of the clip art in those old books. You can paste clip art into computer programs such as PowerPoint. Clip art can be resized without losing its integrity. The clip art that comes with PowerPoint isn't encumbered by licensing restrictions; it's in the public domain, and you can use it as you wish. PowerPoint offers literally thousands of clip‐art images.
