E-Commerce

In Chapter 13, “Example—E-Commerce,” I covered the basic functionality of an e-commerce site. When developing your own, you can either build on the information there or use an existing application, like these:

  • phpShop (www.phpshop.org, Figure B.9) includes user registration and management, product catalog administration, and more.

  • osCommerce (www.oscommerce.com) is a very popular open source e-commerce application. It’s free, easy to install and use, and was written specifically for MySQL.
