Chapter 13. Example—E-Commerce

In this, the final chapter of the book, I’ll develop one last Web application, an e-commerce site. Despite the recent economic slump and the devaluation of the Web, e-commerce still plays a vital role on the Internet and is a prominent use of PHP and MySQL.

In this example, I’ll design a site for the purpose of selling prints of art. Unfortunately, to write and explain the entire application would require a book in itself, and parts of it would not be applicable to all e-commerce situations.
