Opening Stored Images

If you've got photos already stored on your computer, you have several options for opening them with Elements. If the file format is set to open in Elements, then double-click the file's icon to launch Elements and open the image. • From the Organizer, for files not yet in the Organizer. Go to File → "Get Photos and Videos" → "From Files and Folders", or press Ctrl+Shift+G, and then select your file. The other options in the Get Photos menu (like opening files stored on a cellphone) are covered on File Menu.

If you'd rather go to Quick Fix (The Quick Fix Window), choose Edit → "Go to Quick Fix" instead. If you want to go to Guided Edit, click a photo's thumbnail, and then, in the upper right of your screen, click the Editor button → Guided Edit. (You can also send files to Quick Fix or Full Edit from the Editor button.) Or you can click the Fix tab and choose any of the three Editor buttons there.
