Configuring Server Instances with the Console

When you create a domain with the help of the Configuration Wizard, you can configure several settings such as the listen address and the port numbers for both the Admin and the Managed Servers. Figure 2-1 shows the configuration page for the Admin Server. You can configure administrative access to the server, for example, to a port that is firewalled.

Note that you can choose to use SSL and select an SSL listen port. You can also enable SSL later on through the Administration Console's configuration page for the Admin Server. You go to the configuration page by selecting the server name in the left-hand pane of the console and then clicking the Configuration tab in the right-hand pane.
