Identifying Rule Issues
The rules in HFM have only recently added a mechanism for calculating the per-rule calculation times. However, this requires you to use Calculation Manager. You can select the Enable Timer option for each rule, rule set, or component. This will record the time each rule takes to run in the log file. This can be very valuable in determining where your rules are spending time calculating. It is very easy to do as well; just make sure that you select Enable Logging for the rule you wish to see, and from the System View, make sure you choose Set Logger as shown in Figure 7-3.
