Chapter 6. How-To’s and Other Quick Tips

We’ve covered a lot of territory throughout this Short Cut. If you’ve followed along, you should have a pretty good handle on what you need to do to get your site in top shape for Mobile Safari.

This chapter serves as a quick reference of quick tips and how-to’s. Some of these have been covered earlier in the book, and some provide that “next step” of Mobile Safari web development.

Mobile Safari User-Agent Detection

As mentioned in Chapter 2, “Getting Standard,” object detection is really the way to go in most cases. There are, however, times when you might want to detect Mobile Safari itself. Table 6.1 lists user-agent strings for both iPod touch and iPhone.
