Chapter 19. Implementing a .NET Assembly Connector

In this chapter you'll create external content types using Visual Studio 2010 by implementing a .NET Assembly Connector. This connector will implement the same five CRUD operations that you created in Chapter 18 through the SharePoint Designer. However, because the connector is implemented in .NET code, you can provide an external content type for any data that you can access through .NET. This gives you virtually limitless possibilities.

Creating the Business Data Connectivity Project

Start Visual Studio, and create an empty SharePoint project, as shown in Figure 19-1. Enter the name WF_Chapter19.
