The Quick Nav Bar

Wherever you are on your NOOK Tablet, it’s easy to get anywhere else. To do it, you use the Quick Nav Bar which you can pop up over whatever else you’re doing, and then use it to navigate to wherever you want to go on your NOOK. Press the NOOK button, and voila, the Quick Nav Bar appears (Figure 3-6).

The Quick Nav Bar on the NOOK Tablet and NOOK Color are identical, with one difference—the NOOK Tablet has a Home button, which the NOOK Color lacks. That’s because the NOOK button on the NOOK Tablet brings you to the Home screen.

Here’s what each of the buttons on the Quick Nav Bar do.

Home

Heads you to the Home screen, with all its features such as the Daily Shelf, and any books, magazines, or newspapers you’ve put on the Home screen.

Library

Tap this and you go to your Library, which has all of your books and magazines.

Shop

This brings you to the Barnes and Noble NOOK Store, for buying books, periodicals, and apps.

Search

Tap this to launch the NOOK’s very nifty search feature, which performs a global search of all of your books, magazines, newspapers, and files. It also has a little bit of extra searching magic, and searches the Web and the Barnes & Noble NOOK Store.

Apps

This brings you to all of your NOOK’s built-in apps, such as Contacts, Email, Netflix, Hulu Plus, NOOK Friends, as well as to any apps you’ve downloaded.
