The white space between the copy on the page and the trimmed edge of the paper.

To take a pen and write typesetting specifications all over the page.

The width of a column or the length of a line of type.

- modern type
A category of type that has a strong thick-thin contrast in the stroke weights and thin horizontal serifs.
- monospaced
A font whose characters each take up the same amount of space. That is, a period uses the same width space as a capital W.
- monoweight
The strokes of a letterform have very little difference in thickness all the way around.
