Part II: Elements of the AADL

The description of the elements of AADL provides a foundation for you to understand critical elements of the language, especially those of most value to a novice user. In addition, this part provides detailed reference material on the AADL that can be useful in reading Part I.

As an architecture language for embedded real-time system engineering, AADL was designed to be component based, capture all aspects of industrial-sized embedded systems, and support the validation through analysis and auto-generation of such systems from AADL models. Table II-1 organizes the elements of AADL according to these three perspectives: component modeling, embedded system modeling, and embedded system validation.
