Using MSE

One of the key selling points of MSE, compared to other anti-malware programs, is its simplicity. When it’s running and everything is fine, you don’t see anything save for an icon in Windows’ taskbar notification area, as shown in Figure 2—and not even that if you’re running Windows 7.

Tip

Windows 7 hides a lot of the icons that were visible in previous versions of Windows. To view the MSE icon in Win7, click the up arrow next to the notification area.
