DPM Administrator Console

The DPM Administrator Console is a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in that is used to manage a DPM server that by default is installed when you install Data Protection Manager. To access it, you must be interactively logged on to the DPM server using a domain account that has local administrator privileges. The only method to remotely access the console is to use a Remote Desktop connection.

In the DPM Administrator Console, management tasks are logically grouped together based on related function within the navigation bar. These groupings or task areas are Monitoring, Protection, Recovery, Reporting, and Management, as shown in Figure 10.10.
