Checking Database Integrity
The Define Database Check Integrity Task screen of the Maintenance Plan Wizard, shown in Figure 33.5, allows you to schedule the database consistency command DBCC CHECKDB, which checks the data pages for inconsistencies and is a good tool for ensuring that a database is healthy. The integrity checks can be made before each backup or on an independent schedule.
