Up to this point, this book has been about building the basic functionality of a notification application using the SQL-NS platform. You saw the music store sample application go from initial design, through prototyping, to functional completeness.
This chapter is about taking a functionally complete application and making it perform as well as it can. The goal of performance optimization is to minimize the resources consumed by the application and maximize the volume of events, subscriptions, and notifications it can handle.
