Inserting an Existing Data Source Control

In the previous section, you saw how to configure an SqlDataSource inserted from the Toolbox task pane. You also learned that using that particular method limited the availability of the connection to the page where the control was inserted. This section discusses how to insert an existing SqlDataSource control—that is, a control that has already been created via data sources (see Chapter 19).

Existing data sources are available from the Controls group of the ribbon’s Insert tab, shown in Figure 21.14.
