Modifying Ribbon and Navigation Styles

Because the ribbon in SharePoint 2010 is so integrated with the title and banner sections and top-level navigation, it’s hard to avoid customizing the entire banner to achieve a consistent look and feel. In this section, by overriding SharePoint styles you change the look and feel of the ribbon, including ribbon tabs and background. In addition, you also change the color of the site title and lightly style the top-level navigation in keeping with the colors you apply to the ribbon.

Figure 16.65 shows a snapshot of the modification you make to the site title and background, and top-level navigation, including the style of dynamic drop-down navigational links.
