Reattaching a Publishing Page to Its Page Layout
Effectively, when you reattach a page layout you are uncustomizing the publishing page, the reversal of when you removed the page layout.
Note
Unlike uncustomizing non-publishing pages, such as Web Part pages, using the Reset to Site Template command, a copy of the page in its customized state is not saved.
Reattaching a page to its page layout is similar to detaching the page. Use the following steps:
1. In SharePoint Designer, click All Files and then click the Pages library. Locate page you want to reattach and right-click the page. Click Reattach to Page Layout, shown in Figure 15.69.
