Adding Custom Buttons to Pages

In this section, I show you how to add a custom button to the home (or other) page of your site to link to a new list form in a survey list. As part of the button actions, you leverage the SharePoint 2010 dialog framework to launch the new form in a dialog rather than redirecting the user to a new page.

In this section you build a new page in SharePoint Designer based on a fictitious scenario named Johnny’s Tuck Box INN, as shown in Figure 14.54. You learn how to work further with the SharePoint Designer task panes and format and style buttons. You also work further with CSS and link to an external JavaScript file.
